Types of access control: 

 

  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
    • Roles are assigned to users by an administrator
    • Permissions are granted according to roles

  • Discretionary Access Control (DAC)
    • User has direct control over all of the programs and files in the system (one method of access always opens all the doors)
